WHEN YOU DIE THE DEVIL IS GOING TO SHAKE YOUR HAND AND CONGRATULATE YOU: It was one of those later poems that I thought I’d share here, as it connected to UMY Smith in a heart-hurt way. ![]() ![]() The last few slide more towards Bouvier’s earlier work, mixing characterizations with these feelings and ideas. Most of the book focuses on grief and mental health issues, specifically anxiety/bipolar disorder/depression, self image and identity. Like I thought of Siken’s work, it was okay different than I expected. It took me awhile to actually get around to reading it……#worklife. I’ve bought and enjoyed poetry books by Bouvier before, so when I saw An Aromantic’s Love Song To The Populace, I knew I had to snatch it up. ![]()
